Your slate item is 100% natural stone which makes it unique. Variations in color, texture, plus noticeable cracks, and flaws are to be expected. Each item and engraving will have its own character because of the nature of the stone.
Coasters are treated with an acrylic protective coating to minimize water rings and enhance appearance. The acrylic IS NOT FOOD SAFE.
